Artist Statement

My work explores the childhood spaces that shaped my sense of safety, belonging, and identity. Domestic interiors and familiar structures become sites of memory—once simple and joyful, now altered by time, distance, and emotional absence. These spaces hold traces of protection and comfort, but also distortion and longing, revealing how perception shifts as we grow.

I work primarily in etching, printmaking, drawing, painting, and mixed media. These processes allow me to build delicate, layered surfaces where marks remain permanently inscribed, echoing the fragility and persistence of memory. Through layering and repetition, I mirror the act of remembering, forgetting, and holding on—allowing images to emerge, fade, and reappear.

Symbolism plays an important role in my practice. Flowers often appear as markers of growth, impermanence, and the cycles of development and decay. Houses function as both physical structures and psychological containers, representing stability while holding memory, imagination, and absence. Visually, my work is often atmospheric and layered, balancing structure with softness to reflect emotional vulnerability.

While rooted in personal experience, my work is intended to open into a shared emotional space. By combining visual elements with fragments of personal narrative, I invite viewers to project their own memories and feelings onto the work, encouraging reflection on their own relationships to place, time, and belonging.
